China’s Communist Party has swept away even the hint Hong Kong enjoys the independence residents were promised with a measure that directs brute squads to crack down on protesters and eliminate civil liberties.
In 1997, the former British territory was handed to China under a deal that provided Hong Kong 50 years of autonomy under a “one country, two systems” deal. With Chinese President Xi Jinping’s power swelling and widespread crackdowns on religious institutions and freedoms, the ruthless regime prompted the National People’s Congress to pass legislation allowing Communist security agencies to “prevent, stop and punish” acts of civil disobedience and free speech against authoritarian Beijing rule.
“Beijing’s disastrous decision is only the latest in a series of actions that fundamentally undermine Hong Kong’s autonomy and freedoms and China’s own promises to the Hong Kong people under the Sino-British Joint Declaration, a UN-filed international treaty,” U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reportedly said. “While the United States once hoped that free and prosperous Hong Kong would provide a model for authoritarian China, it is now clear that China is modeling Hong Kong after itself. The United States stands with the people of Hong Kong as they struggle against the CCP’s increasing denial of the autonomy that they were promised.”
Secretary Pompeo was required to deliver an assessment of Hong Kong’s political status based on the Hong Kong Policy Act. He certified that recent acts of aggression by Beijing result in a situation “that Hong Kong is no longer autonomous from China.”
The recent law passed by China makes pro-democracy organizations illegal. Those who attempt to band together face arrest or going missing. Many are calling on President Donald Trump to take decisive action.
The White House called for a U.N. review of the illegal change in Hong Kong. But China was able to scurrilously manipulate its veto power as a member of the U.N Security Council and prevent even a review of the troubling situation. Hong Kong protestors have again taken to the streets in what has become a bloodletting. Under the instruction of Beijing, police arrested nearly 300 pro-democracy advocates.
The White House has the authority to impose limited sanctions in response to the evolving situation. That’s largely the case because the broken promises are primarily between Hong Kong residents, China, and the U.K. But members of the few fact-based media outlets are aware that President Trump plans to make the communists extremely uncomfortable.
“He’s going to have to send a message to Xi Jinping that, look, if you launch a military crackdown in Hong Kong, if you arrest the democracy leaders, if you ban these elections, we’re going to repeal the Hong Kong Policy Act. We’re going to take away the preferential trade status,” Fox News contributor Marc Thiessen reportedly said. “We’re going to welcome Hong Kong people into the United States. You’re going to have brain drain and capital flight.”
President Trump hinted that his economic and national security leadership team has something “very powerful” in the works. Considering how roundly the Trump Administration defeated China in the tariff war, the communists may want to rethink their position.

To establish their irreversible stranglehold around the globe, this cabal is enlisting every corrupt government (including much of that in the U.S.) to do its bidding. If Trump is being besieged — and we all know he is — by the Deep State (which includes its pawns around the world), there is good reason to ally with him even despite what contempt you might hold for his mannerisms. If it says China anywhere, don’t buy it sanction it. These guys are liars, crooks, thieves of the first order. Can’t even live up to their own deals, witness the people of Hong Kong. Not word citizens, but world spreaders of disease and pestilence. Close our boarders to Chinese products of any kind. Let them find new markets for their crap, and then teach them a lesson in competitiveness.

Trump has made it very clear to China that if they proceed with their attempts to crack down in any way on Hong Kong they will make it very dilfficult for China to live their life in its current manner! It’s most unforunate that Chinese leaders think that they have the right to interfere in the lives or countries of other leaders! The absolute gall of such people! They use their power on weaker countries to take from these countries whatever they choose! Fortunately, Pres. Trump doesn’t let such situations reaach any possiblitly of success! The people of Hong Kong can be thankful that Pres. Trump is making it clear to the Chinese that they have no place in Hong Kong!
If President Trump is going to let the people of Hong Kong come to the US he had better be aware that communist China will infiltrate that group with COVID people.
