Disgraced Andrew McCabe Says Trump Should Be Impeached “Immediately”

Disgraced former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe was fired right before he was going to retire for allegedly lying under oath. Obviously, this hit to McCabe’s ego, and wallet, has left him bitter towards President Donald Trump. Like many Democrats and other adversaries to the President, McCabe wants to see Trump impeached. And, he wants it to happen “immediately.”

During an appearance on left-leaning CNN, host Chris Cuomo asked McCabe on his show to comment about recent remarks Trump made concerning his insinuation that he might accept information about a political foe from a foreign source. McCabe deemed Trump’s remarks “absolutely wrong.”

According to TheBlaze, he stated they were “yet another example of the president’s efforts to try to normalize his own abhorrent behavior.” Explaining his stance, the former FBI deputy director cited a strong statement made by the head of the Federal Elections Commission last week. In it, Chair Ellen Weintraub reiterated that “it is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election.”

Cuomo mentioned that failed 2016 presidential candidate Hillary Clinton paid Russians for a controversial dossier against the President. The CNN host asked McCabe if he viewed the two situations as “analogous.” The former FBI deputy director insisted, “Not at all, Chris, there is no equivalence in those two examples.” McCabe then “argued that the Clinton campaign did nothing illegal because it contracted with American law firms for their opposition research, and he defended the foreign national involved for presenting their findings to the FBI.”

During the sit-down, McCabe maintained that he’s not a “political operative” nor a “political person.” However, he’s recently written a book titled “The Threat: How The FBI Protects America In The Age Of Terror And Trump” The former FBI deputy director proclaimed that the Mueller probe revealed enough evidence to bring impeachment proceedings against Trump.

According to the Washington Examiner, McCabe brought up House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s reservations regarding pursuing impeachment citing fears of backlash from voters. But, the fired FBI deputy director maintained that impeachment proceedings “could provide important, essential testimony to Congress that can only be done in the scope of an impeachment inquiry.”

McCabe remarked that action “should be taken immediately.” He went on to say that “whether or not that results in articles of impeachment and trial in the Senate and all of those sorts of things is beside the point.” According to the Washington Examiner, “McCabe’s endorsement of impeachment is notably a step further than his former boss, ex-FBI Director James Comey, has gone. Comey warned in March that the country ‘would see this as a coup’ and has pushed for pushing Trump out of office in the 2020 election.”

The disgraced former FBI deputy director was removed from his position on March 16, 2018. McCabe’s ousting came less than two days before he was set to retire on his 50th birthday. If he hadn’t been canned, McCabe would have received a full pension. The Washington Examiner noted that McCabe’s firing came “after the Justice Department’s Office of the Inspector General determined he misled investigators about the role he had in leaking information to the Wall Street Journal in October 2016 about the investigation into the Clinton Foundation.” But, the former FBI deputy director charged that his termination occurred simply to disrepute the Mueller probe and the FBI.

In April of last year, the public was made aware “that the Justice Department inspector general had referred its findings to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington for possible criminal charges.” In February of this year, the former FBI deputy director’s attorney confirmed that he was still being investigated. McCabe has maintained that he will sue the government in an effort to reinstate his pension.
