Due to a glitch on the social media platform Facebook on Thursday night, it was revealed that the Facebook page for Greta Thunberg is maintained and updated by accounts that belong to her father and a climate activist located in India.
Typically, Facebook page managers can post anonymously to their accounts, but Wired made a statement that said, “a bug that was live from Thursday evening until Friday morning allowed anyone to easily reveal the accounts running a Page, essentially doxing anyone who posted to one.” To discover who initiated the post, one just needed to look at the edit history and it was clearly displayed for all to see.
It became fast news on internet message boards that had users sharing screenshots of posts that were made on Greta Thunberg’s Facebook page by actor Svante Thunberg, her dad, as well as Adarsh Prathap, who happens to be an Indian delegate at the U.N. climate change organization. Those who viewed the account during the glitch indicated that none of the posts on Greta Thunberg’s page appeared to have been made by her at all.
This new information almost confirms the longstanding allegations that Thunberg is an actor that has been managed and controlled by her family as well as climate consultants. The Thunberg family denies the allegations.
On Saturday, someone claiming to be the 17-year old responded to critics on her social media page, which has almost three million followers. Although it is typical behavior for celebrities and other public figures to hire social media managers to post to their accounts, Thunberg claimed that she made the posts via her dad’s social media account because that is the account she prefers to use.
“Some people have been asking who manages this page. First of all, since last spring I only use Facebook to repost what I write on my Twitter and Instagram accounts,” Greta wrote. “Since I have chosen not to be on Facebook personally (I tried early on but decided it wasn’t for me) I use my father Svantes’ account to repost content because you need an account to moderate a Facebook page.”
“All texts posted on my Facebook page has of course been written by me, just like everything else,” she added.
This is not the first time the child activist has had to answer questions about her actions from her social media followers. A few months ago, she posted a photo on social media of herself sitting on the floor while traveling on an “overcrowded” train. Thunberg said she had sat on the floor until a seat opened up. The railway indicated that she actually traveled first class.
In a recent interview with BBC Radio, her father said that he was not on board with her missing school to protest climate change and thought it was a “bad idea.” He said he changed his mind however, after watching her struggle with depression for many years and then become happier due to her activism.
“She dances around, she laughs a lot, we have a lot of fun — and she’s in a very good place,” Svante Thunberg said.

Sorry but according to facebook the only page one can moderate is the one THEY logged into.
I can not log into my facebook account and MODERATE another relatives account and they can not log into their account and moderate mine. Unless something drastically has changed in their terms of service since the last time I bothered to log into facebook.
