Liberals Insane Reason for Disliking Voter ID Laws

Every election cycle, the controversy over voter ID laws reemerges. Conservatives say we must protect the voting rights of legal citizens by making sure those who cannot vote legally are not allowed to enter the polls. Liberals say voter ID laws are racist.

But the liberal claim that voter ID laws are racist, is racist. The argument goes simply that because it costs money to get an ID, and minorities tend to be poor, a poverty barrier to ID-protected voting exists. Because of this, liberals tell us, requiring voters to have ID is racist.

This means they believe that having brown skin makes you more likely to be poor. That is racist- especially when you consider that fact the Asians and East Indian American citizens have proportionally greater incomes compared to whites.

We are told that requiring ID to vote is racist because it prevents the poor from voting- and only minorities are poor. This falls down in light of the fact that the majority of poor people in America are white.

While it’s true that a higher percentage of minorities are poor, there are still more poor whites. This means if there’s any validity to their claim that being poor makes a person less likely to get an ID, it is still white voters who are most likely to lose their chance to vote because of it.

But liberal democrats are not concerned about poor whites, and they have not been since the 1930s when the party abandoned poor and working class whites in favor of minorities of every kind.

Republicans want voter ID laws for reasons that may be cynical but are not unfounded. They say democrats have a habit of opening the borders to undocumented immigrants for the purpose of bringing them to the polls. Conservatives say democrats are illegally boosting their election numbers by promising handouts to minorities who will vote for them. These claims have a strong historical basis.

There has been massive evidence that the DNC illegally boosted their poll numbers in an attempt to hoist Hillary Clinton into the White House. There is evidence of dead voters somehow making their ways to the pools, incarcerated voters magically projecting themselves into voting booths, and hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants being ushered into virtual polling places as they fill out registration forms for benefits.

So while it is certainly true that some politically motivated republicans support voter ID laws because it helps them to get a strategical advantage over democrats, being so motivated is not a strike against them. This is like highway patrol officers being in favor of speed limit laws because it boosts the slush funds at their departments. It may not be an honorable reason- but in this analogy, the democrat is analogous to the driver who wants to abolish speed limit laws just so they can drive recklessly fast.

Voter ID laws are meant to protect the right of citizens who have a legal right to vote to not have their votes diminished by illegal voters. You may think of votes as being like a currency. The more dollars are introduced into the system, the less your dollars are worth. That’s called inflation. The more voters there are in a system, the less valuable each individual’s vote becomes.

It is especially egregious when people who do not have a legal right to vote, due to criminal status, immigrant status, or the status of no longer being alive- somehow manage to cast their votes to stand in equanimity with law-abiding citizens who pay their taxes and have a real stake in who wins an election.

We’ve been told for years that defending law abiding citizens in their right to vote, their property rights, and their right to free speech is racist. Every single point of contention that liberals and conservatives debate over becomes a defense trial where conservatives are forced to defend some point that his liberal opponent has called racist or sexist or some other dreaded ‘ist’ word.

This is why Trump won the election, to a large extent because decent people who know they are not bigots are sick, tired and fed up with being told that they are. People who only want a fair shot at prosperity for themselves and their communities who know they no not harbor hatred in their hearts are the same people that voter ID laws are designed to protect, and no amount of name calling should discourage us from defending them.
