Fired White House staffer Omarosa Manigault Newman and her widely discredited tell-all book have gotten more than their fair share of air time from a media outlet obsessed with muck raking.
CNN has been on failed crusade to undermine the White House by trolling out some of seediest tabloid personalities available. Whether the decision to stoop to salacious conspiracy theories and sex stars has been driven by the networks plummeting ratings or a deep animus toward Pres. Trump remains to be seen. What has become abundantly clear to even causal TV watchers is that CNN cannot stop mudslinging.
Reports about record-setting economic news, historically low unemployment, denuclearization gains in North Korea or the defeat of ISIS are noticeably absent from on-air discussions and the outlet’s web site. What’s not missing is a side show of liars, backstabbers and morally bankrupt individuals willing to throw shade for money.
CNN’s Confused Obsession with Omarosa
To say that CNN celebrities have a dysfunctional relationship with Omarosa would be nothing short of an understatement.
As CNN contributor April Ryan tells it, Omarosa hurled a furious attack against her for declining a wedding invitation. After the snub, Ryan claimed the White House employee was freezing her out of press briefings. Other claims centered on Omarosa influencing the White House Press Secretary to not field Ryan’s questions. Those claims appear to be something of a stretch.
Omarosa wielded no such authority in the White House. Ryan, on the other hand, had earned a poor reputation for making false accusations, one being that Sarah Huckabee Sanders challenged her to a street fight. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Despite the animosity between Omarosa and CNN, the “fake news” network was more than willing to trot the disgruntled former White House employee out and showcase her tell-all book. The media company was already well aware that many of the claims in the salacious, anti-Trump book had been widely regarded as false.
Despite all this, CNN gave her face time, spent hours running discussion about her and the book, posted articles online and plastered their web site with video clips. The vast majority of the sound bites are aimed at slinging mud at the president.
Stormy Daniels’ Not-Too-Sexy Ratings
Before the arrival of “fake news,” credible journalists would thumb their noses at a porn star who took hush money and then hired a lawyer to get more. At best, the coverage would focus on whether such a move was legal extortion or merely despicable. The times they are a changin’.
CNN has pushed an almost non-stop Stormy presence. She was invited to appear with CNN star Anderson Cooper on CBS’s “60 Minutes.” In fact, CNN then interviewed the sex-for-hire star’s lawyer a whopping 59 times in less than two months. Yes, that’s about once per day.
Making the obsession even more disturbing is the fact that CNN hosted all of the sitting U.S. senators combined only 34 times during the same span. What many find laughable is that attorney Michael Avenatti’s firm lost a massive $10 million lawsuit, and his wife filed for divorce.
On the surface, this trend would make CNN appear to be simply moving toward a niche of dark and dirty tabloid journalism. But that notion doesn’t hold water given the network’s rating went into free fall during the height of the Stormy sex scandal. Click bait web sites work on a business model that makes them lewdly profitable. CNN took major steps backwards in terms of audience.
Considering Stormy Daniels was only earning $35 a pop for her strip show at the time, cheap and easy doesn’t appear to be paying the CNN’s bills.
CNN Fixated on Trolls
A cursory look at the media outlet’s coverage points to an addict-like fixation on dirt.
The network frequently hosts ex-CIA Director James Clapper, who many believe was a conspirator in orchestrating the phony Russian collusion narrative against Pres. Trump. The president recently revoked the former spy’s security clearance after allegations that Clapper was monetizing top secret information.
Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey was warmly welcomed by CNN stars, despite being under investigation by the Inspector General for misconduct. Comey was also making a buck stumping his “Higher Loyalty” book many regard as at least part fiction.
Everyday Americans are fully aware that fact-based journalism is hard to come by in this day and age. But people deserve better than a raunchy muck-raking company pawning itself off as real news.

CNN and all the commentators they rely on are what people in the industry refer to as super market tabloids. They are where the men in Black go to for news of alien abduction and skin stealing.

If CNN could stick to a balance in their new2s reporting, they’d have better ratings. As it is, they’re dropping because of their inability to present balanced news reporting. They seem to be so anti the duly elected President that they cannot maintain even a shred of balance in their news reporting. I used to watch them sometimes I.E. train accidents, airplane crashes, etc., but these days I never turn on CNN. How about Jim Acosta’s recent tribulations?

There is no more legitimate news outlets, CNN (Communist News Network) wouldn’t know real news reporting if it hit them in the sickle, their news is censored and scripted. Along with MSNBC and the rest. There are no longer investigative journalists in this country, they are nothing but tabloid reporters. The news outlets are all connected, they pretend to be separate entities but how do you explain how they all lead with the same stories, broadcast sports and weather at the same time? I believe if they get caught reporting lies they should lose their license.
CNN will go to any length to support their predetermined narrative. I remember around the time Trump was going to announce for President, a CNN talking head dug up a little known actress (his ex girl friend) in London to condemn Trump. A British Citizen, she had played a few bit parts in plays over a couple years. CNN spent 15 minutes fawning all over her. She just parroted and affirmed anti-Trump talking spouted by the CNN host. CNN praised her “astute, mature, world view.” Cool! No need for credentials or experience.
CNN should be ashamed of itself , presenting news with documentation and providing informed counterpoint. How dare they ? Why can’t they just be a sewer of misinformation , lies and innuendo like the FAKE FOX Network? Better yet , why not have Trump pull all the other radio station licences and have FAKE FOX as the sole network on Radio ? It worked fine for Hitler, Stalin, Mao and Kim Jung Un.
