The unprofessional and unconstitutional way the House Democrats’ have managed the Trump impeachment may actually be backfiring on them, as they seem to have offended even the Republicans that are viewed as possible defectors in the final vote.
The backlash began as Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts admonished the House impeachment managers and President Trump’s defense team after a heated exchange between Nadler and White House counsel Pat Cipollone at 1 a.m.
The GOP lawmakers said Nadler’s comments were offensive and were meant to “alienate” the senators serving as a jury.
Even Senate Majority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) told thought Nadler crossed a line, “Particularly toward the end there, Nadler was especially partisan, and I think that is not helpful to their cause, frankly,”
Senator Lisa Murkowski, (R-AK) said she was completely offended when House Manager Rep. Jerrold Nadler asserted that GOP members voting against allowing new testimony and evidence were engaged in a “cover-up.”
“I took it as offensive,” Murkowski told the media on Wednesday. “As one who is listening attentively and working hard to get to a fair process, I was offended.”
In Nadler’s opening statement, he accused Republican senators of “voting for a cover-up, voting to deny witnesses, an absolutely indefensible vote, obviously a treacherous vote.”
The fact that Murkowski has an issue with Nadler’s comments is completely damaging to the Democrats, as the Alaska Republican is part of the small group of Republican senators that is viewed as a possible ‘swing vote’ in the impeachment vote as well as possibly another ally of allowing more witnesses to testify at the trial.
In addition, Sen. Josh Hawley, (R-MO) on Wednesday said Democrats “took a huge step backward” with their opening statement.
“I mean, that’s an extraordinary thing to say on the floor of the United States Senate, the middle of the trial, and that’s what drew the rebuke and rightly so,” Hawley told reporters. “I can tell you, there was an open, open gasping on the Senate floor when Nadler was saying these things. I mean, it’s really, really extraordinary.”
The Senator added: “If the goal was to persuade, they took a huge step backward last night.”
The general feeling on the floor seems to be one of restlessness among the Senators after enduring hours and hours of opening statements from the prosecution.
“The House is completely miscalculating how to handle this,” a Senate GOP source told Fox News Thursday. “They’re putting far too much emphasis on the time they use than the substance of what they’re delivering.”
“You just have to stretch and you just got to stand,” Murkowski said of the long speech from Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.
As the idiot Maxine said there will be more impeachments. For once in her corrupt life she is right. What she doesn’t understand is that the coming impeachments will include Schiff, Nadler, Pelousy and herself.

I believe that outside (the impeachment Trial) Witnesses should be brought before the Senate, the relevance of them being before the Senate wold need to be proven to the Senate.
However simply being brought before the Senate does not mean that they HAVE to give witness.
