Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has always been a firebrand when it comes to civil liberties, so it should come as no surprise to see him come out in full force against one of the most egregious abuses of power in modern political history.
“You know, the fact that Joe Biden [listened in] was very poor judgment, but I think was also an abuse of power,” the senator told Fox News during an interview. “And, this was precisely what they were accusing Trump of during the impeachment. They said: ‘Oh, you used the power of government to go after a political opponent.’ That’s exactly what Biden did here, in a partisan way.”
