Debate over abortion is nothing new, but one Alabama Democrat is under fire for his recent remarks.
State Representative John Rogers sparked controversy because of some recent remarks he made about abortion in Alabama. During a debate over a recently passed bill designed to protect the unborn in the state, Rogers outraged both his own party members and conservatives with his statements.
Stating in part “Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later”, Rogers was speaking out against the proposed abortion ban, but his choice of words was called out by both sides. Conservatives in the Republican-controlled House decried his outlandish statement – while Democrats squirmed because he used the word “kill” in a statement supporting abortion. “Termination”, “ending” and similar words are the preferred lingo of the left – “kill”, while accurate, is a little too descriptive for the progressive party.
The controversy began after the House overwhelming approved a new state bill that would make performing an abortion a felony. The rule would apply at any stage of gestation, with exceptions for those women whose overall health was at risk because of the pregnancy. After passing with an overwhelming 74-3 majority the abortion ban for providers has proceeded to the state Senate.
While this is a state bill, the nation is watching it closely; if it eventually heads to the Supreme Court, it could cause the conservative-leaning group to reconsider Roe vs. Wade.
Some legislators at the state level opposed the anti-abortion proposal, which would criminalize the act of performing the procedure, but Democrat John Rogers took things a step further. During the ongoing debate over the new law, Rogers stated:
”Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later. You bring them in the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or you kill them later.”
The comments sparked immediate outrage from both sides of the aisle. Comparing abortion procedures with executions and the electric chair hardly fits in with the progressive party line of “pro-choice” and “babies are not living until they are born”. By comparing the death of an infant to the death of a full grown adult or teen, even one who has committed horrible crimes, indicates that the baby in question is a human — something progressives rarely want to admit.
Rogers’ further statements did nothing to improve things. He also mentioned that if not aborted, the children could grow up to be “retarded” or “half deformed” if they were to be born at all. Rogers statements received national publicity and sparked outrage from both sides of the aisle. He has yet to provide any reasoning or additional insight for his comments — and brought the conversation about abortion in Alabama to national attention.
In a way, we should probably welcome the effort by some Democrats to at least be honest about what they really want…

With that line of thinking, it’s a crying shame that Mr. Rogers parents decided that they wanted him. Where would he be if they didn’t want him? Furthermore; has this guy not heard of the fact that there are parents out there that can’t have children and would cherish the opportunity to adopt a child? This guy is the total opposite of Fred Rogers, from the TV show Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Sad, very sad indeed!

This is just the latest in the liberal repertoire. I read yesterday where there’s a college class being taught on how to have sex with infants and the ‘arousal points’. Why is this being allowed? I also read where ONE parent complained in a school and now they won’t be saying ‘God Bless America.’ The Democrats have proven they’re Godless and heartless. Why would anyone want one of these people representing them? VOTE THEM OUT. Refuse to give in to their demands. Question them. Democrats do not deserve to represent this country. They don’t see it as murder – to them, abortion is birth control. They’re horrible.
There are many people wanting children but last I heard they had to go to foreign countries to get one. Why , for the reason that the childrens dept. whatever they call themselves these days used to be HRS then children and familiy service. this service is largely run by leftist I would suspect. however, it is very difficult to adopt one , especially a white one. If you adopt one at all you must worry about the parent or both that signed off on their parental rights changing their minds after a year or more. PS. I know a case now of a couple wanting to adopt but they are fostering so far. After a year signed off the mother wants the child back. So they wait and see. They cannot fight this because of the expense and then the mother may get the child back anyway. So here lies the adoption problem.
