Even CNN says DNC Chair Tom Perez has Gone ‘Bananas’

It is not unusual for CNN and other mainstream media outlets to refer to politicians (and even the current President) as “crazy” or “deranged” — but these terms are generally reserved for conservatives. Recently, though, CNN broke this trend in a recent story about DNC chair Tom Perez.

CNN anchor Brianna Keilar referred to Perez as “going bananas” during a segment with campaign manager Robby Mook.

“The DNC chair, Tom Perez, wants voter data, right, from Democrats in the states,” she said. “He’s trying to build this big, for-profit database. This is a big deal that he’s trying to do this, but he kind of went pretty bananas on these state Democrats, threatening to cut them off from using DNC resources that are basically just from the DNC that they lend out, like organizing tools, campaign tech tools, tools that actually in the hands of state democrats would favor the party nationally.”

Mook is Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager and at the helm of her failed 2016 presidential campaign.

The heart of the issue is conflict within the Democratic Party itself over voter data. According to Politico, Perez, the DNC chair, has gone to war with the rest of the party, launching angry emails and sparking debates over one of the organization’s most valued assets — their state level voter data.

Most of the massive amounts of data the party has gathered is owned by the states themselves, and sometimes owned by local or county municipalities or even organizations like unions or associations. Perez wants to unite the data and create one large, comprehensive database to mine when it is time for campaigning. The states and third party organizations object to handing over the data, as they feel it would be used to push a national, not local or organization-friendly agenda. In other words, local and state level groups fear a power grab, or that their hard won resources could be expended to benefit just a few elite members instead of the groups themselves.

Perez launched a series of harshly worded emails stating that he was “disappointed” and “dumbfounded” at the groups’ refusal to hand over their data to the national organization.

“For some inexplicable reason, this proposal would tear down just about everything about our current data structure, reversing so much of the progress we made over the past decade,” he said.

Perez also called out key players in both government and labor organizations by name, urging them to comply. State and union leaders balked and the controversy continues. State group leaders claim Perez is over the top and out of line, particularly in the personal way he addressed his email complaints, while Perez claims the leaders are backwards and threatening progress. With no end in sight, this ongoing controversy could have a lasting impact on the party itself as we inch closer to the eventual 2020 election.

  1. THE DEMORATS ARE IN SELF DESTRUCT MODE I WILL NOT VOTE FOR DEMOCRAT’S AS LONG AS THEY STAY ON THEIR OBSTRUCTING PATHETIC PATH AGAINST THE MAJORITY CITIZEN GOVERNMENT AND THE SITTING PRESIDENT OF OUR NATION!!!!

  2. The so called Democrat Party has always been about nothing but power for itself and a few elites. It is the commironazi way of doing things. It is the beginning of a tyrannical regime within the so called Democrat Party. If it is successful and the so called Democrats gain a majority of the power in this country, it will lead to a tyrannical Government in the entire United States. Power is what so called Democrats want so that they can oppress the people of our country. They are the commies and fascists and Nazis in this country today. Just watch them lie and cheat and steal in every election. Look at what happened in Florida and Arizona and Georgia in these past elections. That is what today’s so called Democrats are, liars, cheats, and thieves.

  3. You gotta love nomination RIGGING and Steele dossier conspirator – Tom Perez – along with his former co-chair and girl friend beating – oooops – no I’m sorry they are not among the women who the left screamed should “ALL be heard and believed” the race card was played and he got a pass – Keith Ellison – are doing for the Democrats what Kaepernick did for the NFL.

  4. This is an example of what you get with Socialism…..the Demoncratic Party has gone so far left it’s is a wonder it hasn’t gone over the edge already…..give it time and it will implode!!!!

  5. Well I’ll be darned, the thought that the national DNC might not have the local group’s interest at heart. Now you’re starting to sound like the Tea Party for heavens sake. Maybe the ghosts of the 201 election are still hanging around. Like the primaries that put Bernie ahead of Hillary but the delegates cast their votes for Hillary anyway……..sure, lots of trust building there. Or maybe it was the total take over of the national Democrat party election organization by the Hillary campaign in both strategy and finance…………….and lost. Leaving a lot of local Democrats and organizations still scratching their heads. So Tom, it appears that you of all people may not have the answers. You may have to get out and talk to the little people………

  6. Can you imagine what this country would be like if,by some stroke of corruption, the Demorats were successful in fixing the election so that Hillary would be POTUS. God help us!! They never got over the fact that a person like Pres Trump could come out on top. The Demorats have only ONE objective in life, and that is to destroy Pres Trump anyway possible and take over the power in the USA.
VOTING FOR A DEMORAT NOW IS VOTING FOR SOCIALISM!! The Demoratic party MUST be kept under control and ABOLISHED. ⚓

    1. They underestimated how much cheating they had to do in 2016. They will not make that mistake again. Just look at AZ, FL for 2018 if you want to see what 2020 will be like. The vote counters are going to be a sure threat. We must make sure there are no unknown polling places opened and unobserved and no late voter ballots coming in under that same quise. They will be over the top in illegal voters and the dead, etc..

  7. Ever since the dimms have shown their true colors & been exposed as the CORRUPT HACKS they clearly are, I WILL NEVER VOTE “D” AGAIN – not at any level & especially not at the National level.
Thanks, all You bubble headed dimwit socialists & obstructionists, thanks for absolutely nothing – EXACTLY WHAT YOU WILL GET FROM ME!

  8. Hum? Could it be that within the party some have enough sense to realize a one hub of all voters dem wit might be used to do more of the Bernie/Hillbilly rigging of the 2016 campaign shutout of the challengers? DAH! A crook knows another crook and that is a fact the dem wits have figured out. Liars, cheats, thieves who definitely know they canNOT trust the bigger sharks!

  9. Funny how the concept of “centralized control” which is the hallmark of Democrat/socialist philosophy, has it’s limits at the state level. And the national democrat party officials only have themselves to blame. Look what they did to Bernie Sanders. After he won some state primaries, they elbowed their way in and strong armed their super delegates to vote for Hillary anyway. But of course, that may have been more Hillary’s campaign doings than the party itself. So, after that show of “you all don’t know what’s best for the country”, why shouldn’t the state party level be giving the national party committee the middle finger now.
