Trey Gowdy DESTROYS Democrat Adam Schiff’s Call for Impeaching Trump

Trey Gowdy retired from the U.S. Congress last year. But, he definitely still cares about what’s taking place on Capital Hill, including what his old nemesis U.S. Representative Adam Schiff is up to.

In a recent interview with Fox News, Gowdy shut down Schiff’s claim that Republicans privately urge him to oppose President Donald J. Trump.

During the sit-down, Fox News’ Charles Payne asked the former South Carolina Representative to remark about Schiff’s accusation that several Republicans were privately pushing him to keep opposing Trump, but were too afraid to speak their feelings publicly. Gowdy replied that he didn’t “know a single Republican” who cared “what Adam Schiff thinks of him or her or the Republican Party.”

He sarcastically went on to say, “There are three kinds of Republican Adam really likes, those that vote with Democrats, those that lose, and those that die, and for most of us that’s too steep a price to pay to curry favor with Adam Schiff.”

Excoriating Schiff, Gowdy said, “This is the same Adam Schiff that did everything in his power to keep you from finding out that Hillary Clinton had her own server, and classified information traversed that server. He did everything he could to make sure you never found that out, Charles, the dossier, you wouldn’t know about if it was up to Adam Schiff. The FISA application and what was used in it, you wouldn’t know about if it was up to Adam Schiff.”

The former South Carolina Representative continued, “He went to court to make sure that you did not know that the DNC funded Christopher Steele’s work. And you wouldn’t know about the Strzok-Page texts if it were up to Adam Schiff, so the king of transparency is one of the most overly partisan charlatans that I had the pleasure of serving with.”

Concluding his testy remarks about Schiff, Gowdy stated, “There are plenty of Democrats I do care what they think. Adam Schiff just ain’t one of them.”

This isn’t the first time Gowdy has publicly disdained Schiff. Last year, during another Fox News interview, the former South Carolina Representative was asked to remark about Schiff’s negative comments about Republicans serving on the House Intelligence Committee. After laughing off the California Democrat’s affront labeling him and other Republicans the “Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse,” Gowdy stated, “Let me tell you this about Adam. Adam’s had a terrible last couple of years, he wanted to be the attorney general under Hillary Clinton and no one in the country worked harder to protect her than Adam Schiff.”

He went on to remark, “He wanted to be the head of the CIA, he wanted to run for Senate in the People’s Republic of California, but he couldn’t win either of those seats, so now, now he wants to be the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, speaking of the apocalypse, Adam Schiff wants to be the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.”

To an amused Jason Chaffetz, a Fox News contributor and former Republican U.S. Representative from Utah, Gowdy said, “So look, if they secede from the Union and President Maxine Waters wants to make him the attorney general in California, more power to him. Otherwise, I don’t think anybody on my side of the aisle cares much about what Adam Schiff thinks.”

On May 31, 2019, Schiff lambasted Trump for threatening the Intelligence Community. According to Fox News, he also “requested that agencies provide more information about the president’s order allowing them to declassify information related to the Russia investigation.”

In a letter to Dan Coates, Director of National Intelligence, the California Democrat wrote, “The Special Counsel’s report definitively establishes that the counterintelligence investigation was properly initiated based on credible information from an intelligence partner. Yet the Attorney General has called into question, without evidence, the validity of the predication of what became the Special Counsel’s investigation.”

If Gowdy’s assertions are correct, Schiff did everything he could to protect failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Now, he’s seemingly pouring all his efforts into trying to unseat her 2016 competitor. Isn’t that ironic?
